Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas
The Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Alpha Omega Chapter are excited to present their 20th Annual Celebrity Waiter Gala on November 3, 2018 at Embassy Suites – Pinnacle Ballroom in Rogers, Arkansas. To commemorate this milestone, we will honor Dr. Margaret Clark, chartering President of Phi Alpha Omega Chapter, Cora B. Davis the visionary who brought this event to our area and Shirley “Peaches” Peterson for her dedication and service to the event during its early years. Our Celebrity Waiters will be “Best of the Best” community leaders who have served as Waiters since the event was established. Having served as our very first Master of Ceremony, we are excited to welcome back longtime supporter, Coleman Peterson, President / CEO of Hollis Enterprises as the evening’s emcee.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., founded in 1908 at Howard University, Washington, D.C., is the oldest Black Greek Letter Sorority. The Sorority, built on the foundation of providing “Service to all Mankind,” boasts a world-wide membership of over 200,000 college-trained women. The Phi Alpha Omega Chapter is located in Bentonville, Arkansas and has proudly served the needs of the Northwest Arkansas community since 1998. The Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas is a non profit 501(c) (3) organization that accepts tax deductible contributions and serves as the charitable arm of the chapter.
This year’s theme will be “Platinum Edition – The Best of the Best”. Guests will enjoy a green carpet welcome, dinner, live entertainment, and silent and oral auctions. Funds raised not only provide college scholarships for deserving high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from our community, but will also support our health and poverty initiatives. Over the past five years, scholarship awards have been granted to over 150 students valued at over $160,000. In total, 250 students have been awarded scholarships valued at over $340,000.
