Happy New Year!

It is my pleasure to serve as the president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Alpha Omega Chapter.  The Phenomenal Phi Alpha Omega Chapter has served the Northwest Arkansas and River Valley communities since 1998.  From providing collegiate scholarships to sponsoring debutantes to hosting Black children’s book readings to planting vegetables to feeding the hungry to promoting HBCU awareness and women’s health, we strive to be a phenomenal sisterhood serving others with excellence and grace.
Under the direction of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. International President Glenda Glover and South Central Regional Director Joya T. Hayes, we are committed to exemplifying excellence through sustainable service–even in the midst of an international pandemic.  As a forward-thinking service organization, we have modified our service delivery methodology to meet the needs of our community members in a safe manner.  Please feel free to review our website, follow us on social media, and partner and engage with us as we serve our community virtually.  These platforms will have information regarding upcoming events and program details for activities in 2021.
We welcome any questions that you have.  Please reach out to us at president@akapao.com.
In Service to All Mankind,
Myra L. McKenzie-Harris, President

MLK Day of Giving Matching Campaign, hosted by Walmart

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others:” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Walmart will host a one-day only online giving campaign where consumers can donate to the Walmart Spark Fund for Charities at the Charities Aid Foundation. Consumers can recommend and donate to a cause for which they are passionate, and Walmart will match $2 for every $1 given by the general public and $3 for every $1 given by Walmart and Sam’s Club employees up to $2 million dollars total.

The campaign begins at 12:00 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m., Monday January 18, 2021. Please indicate Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas as the charity you would like to donate to.

This is an excellent fundraising opportunity for the Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas in the current virtual environment.  Please consider making a personal donation especially if you are a Walmart or Sam’s Club employee and also please consider asking two friends or family members to make a donation.  To further enhance our opportunity to raise funds, you are invited to email prospective donors that the link is live starting at 9:00 a.m., January 18, 2021, as well as tweet and share posts about the campaign.  At 4 p.m., we urge you to post on social media that there is still time to donate and have Walmart match donations.‬

Visit Walmart.com/DayofGiving to learn more and make your donation.

If you have any questions, please contact Cora B. Davis, Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas President at (479) 685-0193 or davisbcora@cox.net
